Add New Language
Watch the video:
- Click the "Settings" menu, click the "Language" submenu, or click the "文A" button on the far right of the toolbar to enter the Set language dialog
- Check "Add new language" and press OK
- Enter the new language display name: the format is "English Name(Local language display)", for example "German (Deutsch)"
- Enter the ISO 639-1 code: you can click the link next to it to query the code, for example, "de" for German
- Enter the preferred subtitle language: that is, the language track that the player prefers to select. The specific values vary. You can view the language track display when playing. For example, common values for Chinese can be "Simplified.chi;chi;zh-Hans;chi;zh-CN;zh"
- Click the "Add" button
- PLM will pop up a translation dialog box for special translation, translating the current language configuration file into a new language configuration file; the user must configure the translator in advance
- Make sure that "Source Language" and "Translate to" are the correct codes, and select an appropriate translation provider, such as Google
- Press "Translate ini", select "Level 2" if prompted, and wait for the translation process to complete, which may take 5-30 minutes
- PLM will ask whether to translate wizard configurations such as wiz_de.json, select "Yes" to translate
- After completing the ini translation, AI document translation can be performed:
- AI translation can only translate from other existing language documents (such as English/Chinese) to the current language
- AI translation can currently only work with Gemini, so you must ensure that Gemini is correctly configured first
- AI translation will skip all existing files with the same name (that is, only translate documents that do not exist in the target folder), and only translate htm/html and txt files. Other files are copied directly; if you need to re-translate, you need to manually delete the relevant files
- First select the source document folder (for example, en)
- Modify the translation prompts according to the specific situation
- After confirming, PLM will use Gemini to translate each document in the source language folder into a file under the current new language folder according to the actual situation
- Generally, it takes a long time to complete the translation
- If you skip this step, you can also use the "Ask AI" interface for individual translation work after switching to the new language.
- After confirmation, PLM will open the machine-translated new language ini file for users to modify
- Save and close the editor after modification
- Restart PLM
- The translated new language ini (for example, "installation folder\language\de.ini") and documents (for example, "installation folder\doc\de\*.*") can be compressed and emailed to plmbugrpt@outlook.com to allow the author to update the language list for other users to download
